With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, thoughts turn to reaching out to someone you love or in many cases, someone you want to love.
But don’t forget to love the most important person in your life – You.
If you’re a writer, that means treating yourself with the kind of admiration, respect, and even love you deserve.
You might be going through some rough patches with your writing.
Perhaps the book isn’t coming. The story seems flat. The characters are uninspiring.
You don’t want to write today, perhaps the rest of the week. Maybe you just want to give up altogether.
It happens.
If so, don’t beat yourself up over the writing.
Take a step back. Remember why you wanted to write in the first place and get right back to work.
Before you know it, you’ll be back in the flow. The words will come.
Remember. Valentine’s Day means love.
Love yourself.
Before you know it, you’ll love the writing.
And guess what? It will love you back.
